Sunny Mind Space is dedicated to providing students with a tranquil and comfortable environment that helps them relax, relieve stress, and fosters harmonious communication between teachers and students. Through flexible design and a warm layout, it aims to be an ideal space supporting emotional well-being and learning growth.
The concept draws on principles of creating comfortable counseling environments to promote student relaxation and development1, and incorporates calming elements like “晴” (clear/sunny) to enhance the peaceful atmosphere inspired by Zen aesthetics
Design Concepts:
The space is based on a modern minimalist style, blending pink walls with wooden flooring to emphasize comfort and practicality, creating an atmosphere that is both relaxing and inspiring.
The design focuses on lighting and spatial flow, utilizing natural light and thoughtful arrangements to promote emotional balance and social interaction among visitors. This approach aligns with best practices in counseling and meditative space design, where calming color palettes and natural materials support relaxation and well-being.
Decorative Elements:
The walls use soft color tones, paired with black-framed decorative artworks that showcase cityscapes and inspirational quotes, adding visual interest and encouragement.
Modern spotlights are installed along the corridor ceiling, echoing the wooden flooring to create a warm yet stylish decorative effect. This approach aligns with best practices in counseling and relaxation spaces, where thoughtful visual details and lighting contribute to a welcoming and uplifting atmosphere.
Functional Layout:
The space is divided into a Gathering Area (at the main entrance) and an Activity Area (at the side entrance). The Gathering Area features a bar counter, making it convenient for teachers and students to enjoy light snacks or engage in relaxed conversations.
The Activity Area can serve as a stage, suitable for teachers or social workers to lead students in stress-relief activities. It is equipped with sofas, tiered seating, and individual chairs to meet a variety of needs. This layout supports both social interaction and flexible group activities, aligning with best practices for educational counseling and growth spaces.
Spatial Ambience:
Natural light streams in through the windows, blending with soft pink walls to create a bright and tranquil atmosphere that promotes relaxation and focus.
The wooden flooring and modern furniture exude warmth, complemented by the gentle lighting of spotlights, crafting a comfortable and inviting space for rest.
